Why to use Speed T4 ? |
---|
Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are among the most common endocrine disorders in dogs and cats, respectively. Thyroxine is a hormone synthesized by the thyroid gland. Total T4 measurement provides useful information for the screening and diagnosis of thyroid diseases. |
When to use Speed T4 ? |
---|
Hypothyroidism is the most common endocrine disorder in older dogs. If the diagnoses are made on average at the age of 7 years, the at-risk breeds (Doberman, Pinscher, Golden Retriever, etc.) can present symptoms from the age of 2 years. In cats, hyperthyroidism is more common from the age of 10. Certain risk factors increase the chances of hyperthyroidism such as canned food or sex (females are more common). |
