Comparison of Speed T4TM to reference method

Speed T4TM is an immunochromatographic, quantitative and rapid assay that allows the total circulating T4 to be assayed by laser-induced fluorescence analysis.

The Speed T4TM test was validated for the measurement of circulating thyroxine in dogs and cats, compared to the laboratory-based indirect chemiluminescence immunoassay method CLEIA (IMMULITE® 2000, Siemens).

Total T4 was measured in 82 canine blood samples and 60 feline samples, performed under clinical conditions.

The correlation coefficient R2 is 0.91 and 0.95 for canine and feline samples, respectively, indicating an excellent correlation between the two assay systems.

Speed T4TM has an excellent correlation with the indirect chemiluminescence immunoassay method (IMMULITE® 2000, Siemens), validated in dogs and cats for the thyroxine assay.
