Comparison of Speed T4^TM to reference method
Speed T4^TM is an immunochromatographic, quantitative and rapid assay that allows the total circulating T4 to be assayed by laser-induced fluorescence analysis. The Speed T4^TM test was validated for the measurement of circulating thyroxine in dogs and cats, compared to the laboratory-based indirect chemiluminescence immunoassay method CLEIA (IMMULITE® 2000, Siemens). Total T4 was measured in 82 canine blood samples and 60 feline samples, performed under clinical conditions. The correlation coefficient R² is 0.91 and 0.95 for canine and feline samples, respectively, indicating an excellent correlation between the two assay systems. Speed T4^TM has an excellent correlation with the indirect chemiluminescence immunoassay method (IMMULITE® 2000, Siemens), validated in dogs and cats for the thyroxine assay.
